## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRMAN LANDED NORMALLY AT SWIKSHAK BEACH IN KATMAI NATIONAL PARK. AFTER LANDING AND DURING TAXI, THE AIRMAN ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT TO THE RIGHT. THE NOSE GEAR WHEEL GOT CAUGHT IN THE SAND WHICH CAUSED AN EXCESSIVE SIDE LOAD ON THE NOSE GEAR FORK ASSEMBLY. THE NOSE GEAR FORK BROKE OFF OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR STRUT CAUSING THE NOSE OF THE AIRCRAFT TO FALL DOWNWARD. THE PROPELLER MADE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AND WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
