## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER WHAT WAS REPORTED AS A NORMAL LANDING, DURING ROLL-OUT, THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED. THE PILOTS STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS ONLY TRAVELLING AT ABOUT 5-10 MPH WHEN THEY FELT AN OSCILLATION IN THE LANDING GEAR AND THOUGHT THAT IT MIGHT BE A FLAT TIRE. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE RIGHT WHEEL WAS TURNED SIDWAYS AND THE FORWARD TRUNION FITTING HAD BEEN RIPPED OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE CAUSING THE GEAR TO FOLD AFT. EXAMINATION OF THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR, REVEALED THAT THE CENTER SCISSORS LINK BOLT WAS BROKEN NEAR THE THREADED END.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR17LA131](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR17LA131), Jun 22, 2017: Cessna 421B (N380AL), Carlsbad, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The right main landing gear collapse for undetermined reasons.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
