## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PIC TOOK OFF FROM 88R AT APPROXIMATELY 0715 (CST) IN-ROUTE TO KBMQ. UPON ARRIVAL AROUND 0730 THE PIC LANDED ON RWY 19 WHERE HE ENTERED INTO A LEFT PATH OFF CENTERLINE INTO GRASS JUST BEFORE TAXIWAY C. THE AIRCRAFT CROSSED TAXIWAY C WHERE IT ENTERED INTO A DRAINAGE CULVERT. THE RIGHT MAIN WAS SEPARATED FROM THE AIRCRAFT BY ROCKS, USED AS EROSION CONTROL, APPROXIMATELY 4 INCHES UP FROM THE LOWER STRUT ATTACHMENT POINT. THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR SEPARATION CAUSED THE RIGHT AILERON TO BE BENT 90 DEGREES UP WHEN STRUCK BY THE MAIN GEAR AND THE WING SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE INBOARD 2 FEET. THE LEFT WING ALSO SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE WOOD SURFACE SEPARATING IT APPROXIMATELY 1 FOOT OUT FROM THE ROOT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN ROTATED RIGHT COMING TO A REST. THE PIC WAS THE SOLE OCCUPANT AND SUSTAINED NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA366](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA366), Jun 24, 2017: Bellanca 1730 (N575JH), Burnet, TX, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s improper landing flare and subsequent failure to maintain directional control during the landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
