## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED A LANDING WITH A REPORTED 13KT CROSS-WIND AT 240 ON RWY16 AND BOUNCED. HE DECIDED TO DO A GO AROUND. ON THE 2ND ATTEMPT THE PILOT REPORTED HE "TOUCHED DOWN SOMEWHAT FAST IN CASE THERE WAS A WIND SHEAR. THE WHEELS STARTED ROLLING FOR MAYBE 2 SECONDS AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I AM SLIDING SIDEWAYS." THE PILOT CONFIRMED THAT HE SLID OFF THE RUNWAY AS EVIDENCED BY "THE FRICTION OF THE PAVEMENT ON THE FACE OF THE TIRE RUBBED OFF THE RUBBER AND THREADS WERE SHOWING." THE PILOT SAID HE "LET THE PLANE 'HAVE ITS HEAD' AND GO INTO THE GRASS WHICH I KNEW FROM MY FAMILIARITY WITH THE AIRPORT WAS THE SAFEST OPTION."

NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OR AIRPORT FACILITIES WAS REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
