## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 2, 2017 AT 1319 (LOCAL) SKYWEST AIRLINES CRJ 700, N796SK, POWERED BY TWO GE CF34-8C5B1 TURBOFAN ENGINES, EXPERIENCED A LEFT ENGINE UNDER COWL FIRE FOLLOWING LANDING AT DENVER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, DENVER, COLORADO (DEN). THE FLIGHT CREW REPORTED THAT A L ENG SRG OPEN CAUTION MESSAGE INDICATED FOLLOWED BY A L ENG FIRE WARNING IMMEDIATELY AFTER STOWING THE THRUST REVERSERS. DISCHARGE OF BOTH FIRE EXTINGUISHING BOTTLES DID NOT EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE CABIN CREW REPORTED THE SMELL, BUT NOT THE PRESENCE OF, SMOKE IN THE CABIN. FIRE WAS OBSERVED AT THE LEFT ENGINE INLET, AFT PYLON AND ON THE GROUND. PASSENGERS WERE EVACUATED TO THE TAXIWAY THROUGH THE MAIN CABIN DOOR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY AIRPORT RESCUE AND FIREFIGHTING (ARFF).

NOTE: THERE WAS NO REPORTED OR ACTUAL TIRE FIRE AS THE FAA REPORT INDICATES. BOTH MAIN LANDING GEAR AND TIRES ARE SERVICEABLE.

ON JULY 4, 2017 THE ENGINE COWLING WAS REMOVED EXPOSING THE ENGINE AND ACCESSORIES. THE OPERATABILITY BLEED VALVE (OBV) FUEL SUPPLY LINE WAS FOUND DISENGAGED FROM THE OBV HOUSING WITH THE (ROSAN) FITTING INTACT/STILL ATTACHED TO THE LINE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)
