## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

TRAINING FLIGHT FOR TAIL WHEEL ENDORSEMENT. FIRST TAKEOFF OF THE DAY, SECOND INSTRUCTIONAL HOP FOR THAT STUDENT. (PREVIOUSLY STARTED RECIEVING ENDORSEMENT OVER A YEAR AGO WITH ONE FLIGHT, NO ENDORSEMENT OR TAIL WHEEL TIME SINCE.) UPON ROTATION, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE LEFT. CFI TOOK THE CONTROLS AND BECAUSE HE DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG, AND WITH NO EXCESS AIRSPEED, HE ELECTED TO LAND THE AIRCRAFT STRAIGHT AHEAD. LANDED IN THE GRASS NEXT TO THE RUNWAY. TAXIED THE A/C BACK TO THE HANGAR AND DIDN'T REALIZE THERE WAS ANY DAMAGE UNTIL THEY DID A POST FLIGHT WALK AROUND.
