## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON JULY 7, AT APPROXIMATELY 14:30 CENTRAL TIME, A CESSNA 170B, REGISTERED AS N2811C TO ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ LANDED ON RUNWAY 18 AT THE PINE BLUFF MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, PINE BLUFF, ARKANSAS. THE PILOT STATED THAT THE AIRCRAFT DEVELOPED A TAILWHEEL SHIMMY WHICH WAS EVIDENT BY TAILWHEEL TIRE MARKS ON THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT VEERED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT AND THE LEFT MAIN LANDING GEAR FOLDED UNDER THE FUSELAGE WHICH CAUSED THE LEFT WING AND PROPELLER TO STRIKE THE RUNWAY. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP ON THE RUNWAY, FACING 90 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT OF THE CENTER LINE. THE AIRCRAFT WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED. ONE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS ONBOARD WERE UNINJURED. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA399](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA399), Jul 7, 2017: Cessna 170B (N2811C), Pine Bluff, AR, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
