## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO LAND AT COTTONWOOD AIRPORT (S84)ON RUNWAY 25 BUT PERFORMED A GO-AROUND DUE TO SHIFTING WINDS. THE PILOT SWITCHED TO RUNWAY 7 AND LANDED (ALL 3 WHEELS WERE ON THE GROUND). DURING ROLL OUT, AT ABOUT 30 MPH, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED TO THE RIGHT BUT THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH LEFT RUDDER EFFECTIVITY TO CORRECT. THE AIRCRAFT GROUND LOOPED WITH THE LEFT WING AND LEFT ELEVATOR STRIKING THE GROUND BENDING BOTH UP TO AN APPROXIMATE 45 DEGREE ANGLE. THE AIRCRAFT ALSO HIT A RUNWAY LIGHT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA396](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA396), Jul 8, 2017: Champion 7KCAB (N5195X), Cottonwood, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
