## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED SPOKANE, FELTS FIELD ENROUTE TO DEER PARK. APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES NORTH OF FELTS FIELD AT 3000' PILOT NOTICED UNUSUAL ENGINE NOISE.

SUBSEQUENTLY ENGINE SIEZED AND PROPELLER STOPPED ROTATING. PILOT EXECUTED FORCED LANDING IN A VACANT FIELD. FLAPS FAILED TO EXTEND DURING FINAL APPROACH. WITH FAILURE OF FLAPS TO EXTEND, A STEEPER THAN NORMAL APPROACH WAS MADE WHICH CAUSED AIRCRAFT TO LAND HARDER THAN NORMAL. AS A RESULT OF THIS HARD LANDING, PILOT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO LOCAL HOSPITAL.
