## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

WHILE REPOSITIONING THE EMS HELICOPTER DURING A MEDICAL EMERGENCY TO A NEW LANDING ZONE THE HELICOPTER?S TAIL ROTOR STRUCK A ROCK. THE PILOT CONTINUED TO A NEW LOCATION A FEW FEET AWAY AND LANDED THE AIRCRAFT. DURING THE FAILED ATTEMPT THE PILOT HAD A GROUND CREW MEMBER ASSISTING AS A GROUND GUIDE. THE HELICOPTER SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE TAIL ROTOR, TAIL BOOM, HORIZONTAL ELEVATOR, MAIN ROTOR BLADES, TAIL ROTOR AND MAIN ROTOR GEAR BOXES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
