## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER RECEIVING 3.4 HRS OF TRANSITION TRAINING, WHICH INCLUDED AEROBATICS THE PILOT PUCHASED THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT AND PROCEDED TO FERRY IT FROM PHONIX ARIZONA TO STEWART FLORIDA. WHILE ENROUTE FROM AUSTIN TO AN AIRPORT NORTHEAST OF HOUSTON THE PILOT NOTED GROUND FOG DEVELOPING OVER HIS ROUTE COUPLED WITH THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING AHEAD ON HIS INTENDED ROUTE. THE PILOT DECIDED TO DIVERT TO BRENHAM TEXAS TO WAIT OUT THE WEATHER. THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT ON LANDING RESULTING ON THE AIRCRAFT SEVERELY PITCHING UP AND ROLLING LEFT AND CONTACTED THE GROUND APPROXIMATLY 400 FEET FROM THE RUNWAY CENTERLINE IN A LEFT WING LOW, KNIFE EDGE, ATTITUDE AND CARTWHEELED ONCE COMING TO REST FACING BACK THE DIRECTION IT CAME FROM APPROXIMATLY 4 FEET FROM A HANGAR. PILOT SUFFERED A BLOODY NOSE AND NO OTHER REPORTED INJURIES.

AN INTERVIEW WITH THE INSTRUCTOR THAT PROVIDED THE PILOT WITH THE TRAINING REVEALED THAT THE INSTRUCTOR WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT HE WAS PROVIDING FAMILIARIZATION/DEMO FLIGHTS AND THAT HE WOULD HAVE TAILORED THE TRAINING DIFFERENTLY AND GIVEN AN ENDORESMENT IF HE GAVE THE PILOT TRANSITION TRAINING.

A REVIEW OF THE PILOTS LOGBOOK OF WHAT TRAINING WAS COMPLETED AND COMPAIRING IT TO AC91-109A REVEALED THAT THE PILOT DID NOT RECEIVE ADEQUATE TRANSITION TRAINING. THE AIRCRAFT THAT THE PILOT HAS EXPERIENCE IN IS NOT THE SAME CATEGORY AS THE ACCIDENT AIRCRAFT AS DEFINED BY AC91-109A SUPPORTING THE FACT THAT THE TRANSITION TRAINING, OR LACK THERE OF, WAS INADEQUATE.
