## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED GOODLAND, KS (GLD) WITH LEAVENWORTH, KS (FLV) AS THE FINAL DESTINATION. DURING LANDING ON RUNWAY 16, THE TAIL WHEEL TOUCHED DOWN AND THE PILOT NOTICED THE AIRCRAFT WAS HEADING TOWARD THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT STATED THAT HE MAY HAVE INADVERTENTLY APPLIED THE LEFT BRAKE WHEN TRYING TO MANIPULATE THE RUDDER PEDAL TO CORRECT THE DIRECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE AIRCRAFT THEN VEERED TO THE LEFT LEAVING THE RUNWAY SURFACE COMING TO REST IN THE GRASS AREA TO THE LEFT OF RUNWAY 16. THIS CAUSED THE RIGHT LANDING GEAR TO COLLAPSE RESULTING IN THE WING AND PROPELLER CONTACTING THE GROUND.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA17CA415](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA17CA415), Jul 17, 2017: Cessna 195 (N4432C), Leavenworth, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s inadvertent toe brake application during the landing roll, which resulted in a runway excursion and a ground loop.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
