## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A WITNESSED STATED THAT THE PILOT MADE TWO PASSES OVER THE FIELD. ON THE SECOND PASS HEADING SOUTH, THE AIRCRAFT WAS STRAIGHT AND LEVEL, PULLED UP OVER A LINE OF TREES AND DID A RIGHT TURN. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED IN A RIGHT TURN WITHOUT GAINING ADDITIONAL ALTITUDE AND APPEARED TO GO INVERTED. INVESTIGATION FOUND PARTS OF THE RIGHT WING AT THE TREE LINE INDICATING THE RIGHT WING STRUCK THE TREE TOPS CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO GO INTO A RIGHT TURN. AT THE IMPACT SITE THE AIRCRAFT WAS RIGHT SIDE UP AND POINTED NORTH.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA272](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA272), Jul 18, 2017: Piper PA-25-235 (N7388Z), Pierce, NE, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain clearance from trees during a low-level agricultural aerial application flight.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
