## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AFTER A NORMAL LANDING AT KLXT, THE PILOT APPLIED BRAKES. THE LEFT BRAKE PEDAL RESPONDED AS EXPECTED BUT THE RIGHT PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. LEFT BRAKE THEN LOCKED UP THE LEFT MAIN AND PULLED THE AIRCRAFT TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT FOR THE LACK OF RIGHT BRAKE, BUT WAS PULLED OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. UPON ENTERING THE GRASS ADJACENT TO THE RUNWAY, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR COLLAPSED UNDER THE AIRCRAFT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA280](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA280), Jul 21, 2017: Stinson 108 (N8954K), Lee's Summit, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s loss of directional control during landing due to the failure of the right brake seal.

## Other reports on N8954K (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19930713023499I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19930713023499I), Jul 13, 1993: Univar 1081 (N8954K), Fairbanks, AK, Substantial damage. Student lost control on a taxi only lesson. Ground looped. Instructor had no brakes on right side.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
