## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N747CB AN LAKE LA-4-200 S/N 754 ON 07/29/2017 AROUND 0936 WHILE TAXING BACK TO HANGER FROM POST FLIGHT LANDING, PILOT LOST CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT TURNING THE AIRCRAFT IN FRONT OF AN AIRCRAFT HANGAR (#25K) WHICH RESULTED IN THE AIRCRAFT TRAVERSING THOUGH A DRY SHALLOW RETENTION POND COMING TO REST IN A DRAINAGE CANAL. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT ENTERED THE DRAINAGE CANAL THE RIGHT WING WAS DAMAGED, WHICH RESULTED IN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. PILOT REPORTED THAT THE LEFT BRAKE ACTUATOR FAILED, WHICH CAUSED THE LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT. NO INJURIES WERE INVOLVED IN AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT. POST-ACCIDENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT AIRCRAFT DIDN?T HAVE A CURRENT ANNUAL INSPECTION. INVESTIGATOR WAS UNABLE TO PERFORM BRAKE OPERATION CHECK DUE TO MUD AND VEGETATION IMPACTED IN THE WHEELS AND BRAKES. THE RIGHT WING WAS TWISTED ALMOST 70 + DEGREES DOWN AND PILOT WAS NOT CERTIFICATED, AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.
