## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON AUGUST 3, 2017, ABOUT 1511 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME, (1911Z), REPUBLIC AIRLINE, INC., FLIGHT 4578, AN EMBRAER 170-200, N430YX, EXPERIENCED SEVERE TURBULENCE DURING APPROACH RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES TO A FLIGHT ATTENDANT. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS SECURING THE AFT GALLEY WHEN SUDDEN TURBULENCE LIFTED HIM OFF THE FLOOR. HE HIT HIS HEAD AND NECK AGAINST THE 2R DOOR. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WAS EVALUATED AT THE HOSPITAL AND SUSTAINED MUSCLE STRAINS TO HIS BACK AND NECK AREA. THE FASTEN SEATBELT SIGN WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE APPROPRIATE ANNOUNCEMENTS WERE MADE. THE CAPTAIN HAD NOTIFIED FLIGHT ATTENDANTS OF THE POTENTIAL FOR TURBULENCE FIVE MINUTES PRIOR TO THE EVENT. THE CAPTAIN INDICATED HE DID NOT EXPECT THE TURBULENCE TO BE SEVERE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
