## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AT 1530 LCL; N459MT, AN EC-135 HELICOPTER WAS REPOSITIONING ON THE UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER HELIPAD (TA79) AND HAD A TAIL STRIKE ON THE TAIL BUMPER OF THE FENESTRON STRIKING THE TOP RAIL OF THE 4 FOOT HIGH CHAIN LINK PERIMETER SECURITY FENCE. THE SOLO PILOT HAD LANDED BEHIND ANOTHER HELICOPTER ON THE HELIPAD AND WAS REPOSITIONING FOR SHUTDOWN TO AWAIT CREW AND EQUIPMENT LOADING. THE DAMAGED TAIL BUMPER WAS REMOVED FROM THE HELICOPTER AND THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OBSERVED ON THE FENESTRON. A MARK WAS VISIBLE ON THE TOP RAIL OF THE CHAIN LINK PERIMETER FENCE. THE OPERATOR WAS GIVEN PERMISSION TO CONDUCT A MAINTENANCE INSPECTION AND MAKE REPAIRS AS REQUIRED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
