## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 4 AUGUST 2017 APPROXIMATELY 1800 LOCAL TIME AT (KSRC) SEARCY ARKANSAS, A PIPER ARROW N33759 WAS MAKING A FAMILIARIZATION FLIGHT. DURING A SLOW MANEUVER THE AIRMAN PUT THE GEAR IN THE DOWN POSITION. THE INDICATION LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE A ?DOWN AND LOCKED ?POSITION ON THE RIGHT GEAR. THE AIRMAN FOLLOWED THE SEVERAL PROCEDURES AS INSTRUCTED IN THE POH TO LOWER AND LOCK THE MAIN LANDING GEAR WITH INEFFECTIVE RESULTS. THE AIRMAN THEN MADE RADIO CONTACT WITH THE GROUND AND VERIFIED THE GEAR WAS IN A DOWN POSITION OUT OF THE WELL. AT THIS TIME THE AIRMAN DECIDED TO DECLARE AN EMERGENCY LANDING. UPON TOUCHDOWN THE AIRCRAFT ROLLED OUT PAST TAXI WAY F WITH NO ISSUES. WHEN THE AIRCRAFT REALLY SLOWED THE RIGHT WING BEGAN TO LOWER AS THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR SLOWLY COLLAPSED CAUSING ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, THE AIRCRAFT WAS JACKED UP ENOUGH TO ALLOW FOR THE GEAR TO LOCKED DOWN THEN TOWED TO THE HANGER.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
