## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED GONZALES REGIONAL AIRPORT (REG) FOR AN INSTRUMENT TRAINING FLIGHT. ON-BOARD WERE THE PRIVATE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ AND THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR. AFTER TAKE-OFF AT APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET THE PILOT STATES THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT CLIMB. THE CFI LOWERED THE LANDING GEAR AND TURNED ON THE AUXILLARY FUEL PUMP AND THE PILOT CHECKED THE MAGS, PROP CONTROL, MIXTURE, THROTTLE, AND FUEL SELECTOR. ONCE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE AIRCRAFT WOULD NOT CLIMB THEY SELECTED AN OFF-AIRPORT LANDING SITE AND MADE AN EMERGENCY LANDING. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED DAMAGE DURING THE LANDING DUE TO UNEVEN TERRAIN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN17LA328](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN17LA328), Aug 17, 2017: Beech A36 (N48TZ), Gonzales, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: A partial loss of engine power due to inadequate maintenance, including worn spark plugs and a leaking fuel hose fitting.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
