## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 09/06/2017 AT ABOUT 1521 UTC, AIRCRAFT N83U EXPERIENCED A BIRD STRIKE AT CRUISE SPEED WHILE RETURNING TO KPBI. LEFT WINDSCREEN WAS DAMAGED BUT THE AIRCRAFT DID NOT SUFFER ANY MAJOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE.

UPON BIRD STRIKE, PILOT REDUCED SPEED TO 60 KNOTS, COMMUNICATED EVENT TO THE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL AND LANDED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.

AIRCRAFT RECEIVED SPECIAL FLIGHT PERMIT TO NORTH PERRY AIRPORT KHWO FOR REPAIRS.

BIRD STRIKE REPORT HAS BEEN FILED.

AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN REPAIR AND RETURN TO SERVICE ON 09/15/2017.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
