## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

BOTH PILOTS CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR AND STUDENT PILOT HAVE ATTESTED THAT PRIOR TO TAKEOFF THERE WERE NO KNOWN DEFICIENCIES OF THE NOSE LANDING GEAR ON AIRCRAFT N258SB. THE AIRCRAFT HAD TWO LANDINGS PRIOR TO THE FINAL APPROACH AT KPDK. NO HARD LANDINGS RECORDED.

CFI HAS 110.8 HOURS IN THIS MAKE AND MODEL AIRCRAFT. CFI HAS PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF AIRCRAFT AIRWORTHINESS AND SAFETY OF FLIGHT.

MAINTENANCE AIRFRAME LOGBOOK INDICATES LANDING GEAR OPERATIONAL AND EMERGENCY FUNCTIONAL CHECKS WERE PERFORMED ON 15 SEPTEMBER 2017. CHECKS PERFORMED TO FACILITATE OTHER MAINTENANCE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
