## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATEMENT - 15-20 MINUTES AFTER TAKEOFF, THE ENGINE QUIT. FIRST I CHECKED MY IPAD FOR NEAREST AIRPORT. WHEN I DIDN?T FIND ONE, I LOOKED AHEAD AND TO BOTH SIDES OF THE AIRPLANE AND SAW ONLY A SWAMP. I TURNED THE AIRPLANE AROUND AND SAW A NARROW GRAVEL ROAD WITH NO HOUSES ON EITHER SIDE. THIS MEANT THERE WOULD BE NO ELECTRICAL WIRES OR MAIL BOXES ALONG THE ROAD. I AIMED THE AIRPLANE FOR THE ROAD, CHECKED THE MAGNETOS, FUEL SELECTOR, CARB HEAT, AND MIXTURE. NOTHING I DID RESTARTED THE ENGINE. I WAS ABLE TO LAND ON THE ROAD, BUT TWO STOP SIGNS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD BLOCKED MY LANDING ROLL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
