## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2017, THE PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) OF N72BT, AN AERO VODOCHODY L39C, WAS ACCOMPLISHING PATTERN WORK AT CHICAGO ROCKFORD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KRFD). DURING ROLLOUT ON THE FULL STOP LANDING ON RWY 19, THE PIC DISCOVERED THE LOSS OF WHEEL BRAKE PRESSURE, ALTHOUGH THERE WAS ADEQUATE HYDRAULIC PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM. THE PIC ATTEMPTED TO RECYCLE THE BRAKES TO REGAIN PRESSURE WITHOUT SUCCESS. THE PIC THEN SWITCHED TO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM AND REGAINED BRAKE PRESSURE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET INTO THE OVERRUN OF THE RUNWAY. THE PIC WAS ABLE TO TAXI THE AIRCRAFT BACK TO THE HANGAR UNDER HIS OWN POWER AND WITH NORMAL BRAKE PRESSURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
