## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA17LA336](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA17LA336), Sep 27, 2017: Cessna 152 (N53393), Winder, GA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate preflight inspection, which resulted in undetected water in the fuel system and a total loss of engine power during the initial climb.

- [Accident 19810526029519A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19810526029519A), May 26, 1981: Cessna 152 (N53393), Vibbard, MO, Substantial damage. Crashed on emergency landing after engine quit. Fuel exhaustion. Possible fuel stolen at en route landing.
