## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT DEPARTED SS207A TO RETURN TO SS207D, A SATELLITE PLATFORM, TO PICK UP FOUR REMAINING CONSTRUCTION CREW MEMBERS. PILOT INITIATED AN APPROACH TO OVERFLY THE MIDDLE OF THE CRANE BOOM CABLES, BUT FELT A TWANG AND/OR BUMP AS THE AIRCRAFT APPROACHED LANDING.

THERE WERE NO ABNORMAL INDICATIONS ON THE AIRCRAFT INSTRUMENTS BUT SENSING A SUBTLE VIBRATION AND SUSPECTED AIRCRAFT CONTACT PILOT SIGNALED THE FIRST MEMBER OF THE CONSTRUCTION TEAM TO STAY BACK UNTIL THE AIRCRAFT WAS SHUTDOWN. HE LET PILOT KNOW BY HAND SIGNAL THAT THE AIRCRAFT HAD CONTACTED SOMETHING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
