## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON OCTOBER 23, 2017 A CFI AND STUDENT WERE PRACTICING A POWER ON STALL AND WHEN THEY WENT TO LEVEL THE AIRCRAFT AFTER THE MANEUVER THEY NOTICED THAT THE RIGHT AILERON WAS NOT RESPONDING TO CONTROL INPUTS. THEY INITIALLY HEADED TO KTNT BUT WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT WINDS WERE NOT ALIGNED WITH THE RUNWAY THEY DECIDED TO GO TO KTMB WHERE THE WINDS WERE 120 AT 10 KNOTS, THEY LANDED SAFELY ON RUNWAY 13 AND TAXIED TO THE RAMP. A POST FLIGHT INSPECTION REVEALED A AILERON CONTROL CABLE HAD BROKEN.
