## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING LANDING ROLLOUT THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND GROUND LOOPED THE AIRPLANE. AS THE AIRPLANE VEERED RIGHT AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY, THE LEFT WINGTIP STRUCK THE RUNWAY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE OUTBOARD WINGTIP AND LEFT AILERON, AND BROKE OFF APPROXIMATELY HALF OF THE BEAD AREA ON THE OUTBOARD HALF OF THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA028](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA028), Oct 26, 2017: Stinson 108 (N927D), Lewiston, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s failure to obtain appropriate training in the airplane before flying solo.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
