## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APPROACH TO RNWY 29, PIC CHECKED GEAR POSTION USING INDICATOR LIGHT AND THE MIRRORS MOUNTED OUTSIDE THE AIRCRAFT AND ALL LANDING GEAR APPEARED DOWN AND LOCKED. AFTER TOUCHDOWN, PIC STATES THE RIGHT TIRE FELT "FLAT" AND THEN HE REALIZED THE RIGHT GEAR HAD COLLAPSED. HE SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND STABILIZED THE AIRCRAFT AS IT VEERED TO AND ENTERED THE GRASS. WHY THE GEAR WOULD NOT DOWNLOCK IS UNKNOWN.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB WPR18LA022](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/WPR18LA022), Oct 28, 2017: Cessna P210N (N6582P), Mount Vernon, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of the right main landing gear (MLG) down-lock mechanism due to an out-of-tolerance down-lock hook, which resulted in the collapse of the right MLG during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
