## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

A PROGRESSIVE ENGINE FAILURE RESULTED IN A FORCED LANDING ON A HIGHWAY EXIT RAMP. ON LANDING THE PILOT VEERED LEFT TO AVOID ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND THE LEFT WING OF THE AIRCRAFT STRUCK A LAMP POST SHEERING OFF THE WINGS AND CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO IMPACT A GUARD RAIL AT APPROXIMATELY A 90 DEGREE ANGLE. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT HAD TO DEAL WITH FUEL LEAKING FROM THE DAMAGED WINGS AND THE ENGINE STILL CONTAINED 6 QUARTS OF OIL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA18LA021](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA18LA021), Nov 10, 2017: Socata TB200 (N207GT), Annapolis, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power for undetermined reasons after the disconnection of the propeller governor control due to inadequate securenment during maintenance.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
