## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT WAS EXECUTING A GO-AROUND ON RUNWAY 10 AT SVH AS PART OF A FLIGHT REVIEW. HE STATED THAT DURING CLIMB-OUT AT APPROXIMATELY 50 FEET AGL THERE WAS A CHANGE IN ENGINE SOUND AND THE AIRCRAFT IMMEDIATELY YAWED TO THE LEFT. RIGHT RUDDER WAS APPLIED AND POWER WAS REDUCED AS THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN TO THE LEFT OF THE RUNWAY AND CONTINUED ACROSS THE GRASS UNTIL IT STRUCK AN EMBANKMENT AND STOPPED PARTIALLY ON THE TAXIWAY. THE PILOT NOT FLYING STATED HE OVER-POWERED THE PILOT FLYING INPUTS WITHOUT CALLING CONTROL OF THE AIRCRAFT DURING THE INCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA18LA038](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA18LA038), Nov 17, 2017: Beech B 55 (N592SS), Statesville, NC, substantial damage. Probable cause: A total loss of left engine power during initial climb. Contributing to the accident was the pilot's failure to maintain control of the airplane following the loss of engine power.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
