## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON DECEMBER 16, 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 0910, AN INCIDENT OCCURRED WHEN A STUDENT PILOT MAKING HIS FIRST SOLO LANDING AT BOWMAN FIELD, RUNWAY 24 IN LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY WAS HIGH AND FAST ON FINAL APPROACH. AS THE STUDENT MADE THE LANDING, HE STARTED TO LOSE CONTROL AS HE VEERED TO THE RIGHT THEN IMMEDIATELY TO THE LEFT DEPARTING THE PAVED SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY AND STRIKING A RUNWAY EDGE LIGHT CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
