## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON SUNDAY DECEMBER 17, 2017 AIRCRAFT N1632G PILOTED BY ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ DEPARTED 5FL7 AT APPROXIMATELY 1250 LOCAL TIME. PILOT MADE FOUR (4) WHEEL LANDINGS AT 5FL7 BEFORE PROCEEDING TO BARTOW (BOW) DIRECT VFR. BARTOW TOWER DIRECTED PILOT TO LAND ON RUNWAY 09L. THE AWOS INDICATED A SOUTH EASTERLY WIND AT LESS THAN 10 KNOTS. THE PILOT EXPLAINS HE HELD A SLIGHT CRAB ANGLE ON FINAL APPROACH, JUDGING THE WINDS TO BE LIGHT AND STEADY FROM RIGHT. HE THEN DID A WHEEL LANDING AT BARTOW, TOUCHING DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 1410 LOCAL TIME. ON ROLL OUT THE WIND BEGAN TO AFFECT STEERING BEFORE THE TAIL CAME DOWN AND BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO COMPENSATE WITH BRAKE AND/OR POWER, THE AIRCRAFT VEERED OFF CENTER LINE AND GROUND LOOPED AT THE EDGE OF THE RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ CALLED THE TOWER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE INCIDENT. HE PROCEEDED TO SHUT DOWN AIRCRAFT AND CUT OFF FUEL, HE THEN EXITED AIRCRAFT AND WAITED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM AIRPORT PERSONNEL.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
