## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE CANADIAN STUDENT PILOT ON A SOLO FLIGHT LANDED, OVER CORRECTED AND CROSS CONTROLLED THE FLIGHT CONTROLS, VEERED OFF THE RUNWAY STRIKING A HANGAR WITH THE RIGHT WINGTIP. THE AIRCRAFT THEN TURNED AROUND 180 DEGREES AND BEGAN TO ENTER THE HANGAR, STRIKING THE LEFT WING LEADING EDGE ON THE HANGAR BAY DIVIDING WALL. UNFORTUNATELY THE HANGAR WAS FOR A SMALLER AIRCRAFT. STRUCTURAL DAMAGE TO THE GLIDER WAS SUBSTANCIAL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA093](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA093), Dec 23, 2017: Let L 23 Super Blanik (N389BA), Clermont, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing flare.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
