## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT STATED THAT WHILE ON APPROACH HE DECIDED TO GO AROUND BECAUSE HE FELT HE WAS TO HIGH. ON GO AROUND HE NOTICED THE RPM ON THE LEFT ENGINE WAS ABOVE THE RED LINE AT ABOUT 2700. HE ATTEMPTED PROPELLER ADJUSTMENT THEN DECIDED TO SHUTDOWN ENGINE AND THEN DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. THEN SHOT A SINGLE ENGINE APPROACH. HE SELECTED GEAR DOWN BUT HAD TO PUMP DUE TO LEFT ENGINE BEING SHUT DOWN. HAD 3 GREEN LIGHTS INDICATING DOWN AND LOCKED AS WELL AS BEING ABLE TO SEE THE NOSE WHEEL IN THE MIRROR AND GEAR HANDLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL POSITION. HE THEN SELECTED FLAPS DOWN AND PUMPED TO GET THEM INTO POSITION. APPROXIMATELY 2 TO 3 SECONDS AFTER TOUCH DOWN THE PILOT SAID HE FELT LIKE THE LEFT MAIN COLLAPSED. UPON SLIDING TO A FINAL STOP HE STATED SOME SMOKE ENTERED THE COCKPIT SO HE SHUTDOWN AND EXITED THE AIRCRAFT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
