## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

UPON LANDING, THE PILOT MADE A BRAKING CONDITION CHECK. THE LEFT MAIN WHEEL ABRUPTLY SEIZED AND NEVER RELEASED. MAINTENANCE WAS CALLED TO FREE THE BRAKE BEFORE THE AIRCRAFT WAS ABLE TO BE MOVED. THE RUNWAY WAS COVERED WITH .5" SHEET ICE COVERED BY .25" OF SNOW. AIRCRAFT COULD ONLY BE KEPT STRAIGHT BY HOLDING FULL RIGHT MAIN WHEEL BRAKE PRESSURE. THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE AIRCRAFT OPPOSITE TO THE LOCKED BRAKE TO CORRECT SIDE DRIFT BEING CAUSED BY THE CROSSWIND, WHICH WAS TOWARD THE SIDE OF THE LOCKED BRAKE. BECAUSE OF RUNWAY CONDITIONS, THE CROSSWIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO SLOWLY DRIFT TOWARD THE DOWNWIND SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. DUE TO THE NARROW RUNWAY WIDTH (60'), THE AIRCRAFT GRADUALLY DEPARTED THE PAVED SURFACE BEFORE IT COULD BE STOPPED. AS THE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED THE DOWNWIND SIDE OF THE PAVEMENT, ONE PROPELLER BLADE STRUCH A RUNWAY LIGHT FIXTURE. NO OTHER DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT OR PROPERTY OCCURRED. ON SITE, HEAT WAS APPLIED TO THE EFFECTED BRAKE TO LOOSEN COMPACTED SNOW/ICE IN THE WHEEL PANT. IT RELEASED ALLOWING AIRCRAFT TO BE MOVED TO HANGAR ON AIRPORT. ONE PROP BLADE HAS STRIKE DAMAGE. PROP WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH SERVICABLE UNIT. ENGINE IS REMOVED FOR CRANKSHAFT SUDDEN STOPPAGE INSPECTION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
