## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N600HH WAS TRAVELING FROM EAST TO WEST TO LAND. THE AIRCRAFT MADE CONTACT WITH TREES RESULTING IN THE ACCIDENT. TREES WERE DAMAGED APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET IN THE AIR AND THE RIGHT WING HAD LEADING EDGE DAMAGE AND REMNANTS OF THE TREE'S LEAVES EMBEDDED IN IT. THE ACCIDENT IMPACT DISPLACED THE NOSE AND ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO THE LEFT OF THE LONG AXIS OF THE AIRPLANE WITH AN ADDITIONAL APPROXIMATELY TWIST (COUNTER CLOCKWISE VIEWED FROM COCKPIT) FROM NORMAL. THIS REPORT WILL BE AMENDED AS ADDITIONAL FACTS ARE GATHERED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CEN18LA095](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CEN18LA095), Feb 8, 2018: Henderson Thorp T 18 (N600HH), Troy, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain adequate clearance from trees while landing in crosswind conditions.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
