## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 12 FEBRUARY 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 1500 HOURS, N118MF, A C90 KING AIR AIRCRAFT DEPARTED (KMFR) MEDFORD OREGON, ENROUTE TO (KSIY) SISKIYOU COUNTY AIRPORT CA. THE TRAINING FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED IN VMC CONDITIONS.

THE PIC/CHECK AIRMAN STATED THAT HE WAS CONDUCTING A SIMULATED NO-FLAP LANDING WHEN THE AIRCRAFT TOUCHED DOWN WITHOUT THE LANDING GEAR BEING DEPLOYED. IN THE NO FLAP CONFIGURATION THE CREW DID NOT RECEIVE AN AURAL WARNING THAT THE LANDING GEAR WAS DOWN AND FAILED TO VERBALLY CONFIRM THE GEAR WAS DOWN AND LOCKED.

THE AIRCRAFT CONTACTED THE RUNWAY AND SLID APPROXIMATELY 300 FEET CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT BELLY SKIN AND PROPELLERS.

THE INVESTIGATING INSPECTOR FOUND BOTH PILOTS TO BE FORTHCOMING, COOPERATIVE, AND TO HAVE A CONSTRUCTIVE AND COMPLIANT ATTITUDE. A SEARCH FAA DATABASES DID NOT DISCLOSE ANY PREVIOUS VIOLATIONS, ACCIDENTS, OR INCIDENT HISTORY. BOTH PILOTS STATED THAT FAILURE TO VERBALLY AND VISUALLY CONFIRM THE LANDING GEAR POSITION LED TO THE ACCIDENT.

THE PIC AND CO-PILOT WERE COUNSELED IN ACCORDANCE WITH COMPLIANCE PHILOSOPHY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA137](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA137), Feb 12, 2018: Beech C90 (N118MF), Montague, CA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The failure of pilot to extend the landing gear during landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
