## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 02/14/18, PRIVATE PILOT ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ OPERATING N540CF, C172, WAS CONDUCTING PATTERN WORK AND TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS ON RWY 05, MMU AIRPORT. DURING THE LANDING PHASE OF THE FLIGHT THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY A 7 KNOT CROSSWIND FROM THE RIGHT OF THE RUNWAY CENTER LINE. DURING THE SECOND LANDING AND AFTER TOUCHDOWN ON RWY 05, THE PILOT USED EXCESSIVE BRAKING TO STOP THE AIRCRAFT. N540CF REPORTED A BLOWN LEFT TIRE. PILOT WAS UNABLE TO CLEAR THE RWY. PILOT NOTIFIED TOWER OF THE SITUATION. THE AIRCRAFT WAS TOWED TO THE RAMP.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
