## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INSTRUCTION FLIGHT PERFORMING BASIC MANEUVERS WHEN A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF OIL APPEARING ON WINDSHIELD. AIRCRAFT LOST POWER AND INSTRUCTOR PILOT DECLARED AN EMERGENCY AND THEN ELECTED TO LAND ON WELL MAINTAINED GRAVEL ROAD ON PRIVATE FARMLAND. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY WITHOUT INCIDENT OR DAMAGE. AIRCRAFT ENGINE WILL BE REPLACED AND THEN FLOWN OFF OF SAME PRIVATE ROAD.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
