## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PURPOSE OF THE FLIGHTS WAS TRAINING (PRIVATE PILOT MANEUVERS), THE EVENT HAPPENED IN THE SECOND TOUCHDOWN. BOTH PILOTS STATED THAT THE SECOND LANDING ON RUNWAY 10 WAS NORMAL AND THE LANDING ROLL SEEMED NORMAL. AFTER THE ROLLED OUT, AT THE START OF THE TURN ONTO THE TAXIWAY IS WHEN THEY FELT A BUMP OR POTHOLE AND A WING DROPPED DOWN ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

THE UPPER ATTACHMENT OF THE TORQUE LINK ASSEMBLY (GEAR SCISSOR) WAS BROKEN OFF, CAUSING THE RIGHT STUB AXEL WITH THE TIRE AND OLEO PISTON ASSEMBLY (ITEM 37-34) TO DISENGAGE FROM THE GEAR CYLINDER (ITEM 37-39), REFER TO THE PIPER PARTS CATALOG, PAGE 2H16, REV. MAY 1980 FOR REFERENCE. NO OTHER DAMAGES WERE NOTED DURING THE INITIAL INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT.

MARKINGS ON THE RUNWAY INDICATE THAT THE AIRCRAFT RIGHT GEAR TOUCHDOWN WITH THE CYLINDER, THE STUB AXEL AND OLEO PISTON ASSEMBLY (FASTENED TOGETHER) WERE FOUND CONNECTED TO THE AIRCRAFT BY THE BRAKE HOSE. THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO A STOP APROXIMATELY 300 FEET FROM THE FIRST POINT OF CONTACT WITH THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
