## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

N969GR, BE58, DECLARED EMERGENCY DUE TO SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT ON FINAL RWY 11R; ACFT LANDED W/OUT INCIDENT, INSPECTED BY EMERGENCY CREW; NO INJ/DMG REPORTED. 03/07/2018 2012Z.

AIRCRAFT WAS TAKEN TO APR REPAIR STATION. WHEN THE MECHANICS INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT THEY FOUND THAT THE FLAPS CABLE AT THE FLAPS MOTOR HAD FRACTURED CAUSING THE MOTOR TO CONTINUE TO RUN AND EXCEEDING IT'S DUTY CYCLE AND CAUSING THE SMELL OF SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
