## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRMAN ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^ WAS CONDUCTING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT THE PALATKA (29J) FLORIDA AIRPORT ON THE MORNING OF MARCH 16, 2018. AT THE SAME TIME, ANOTHER AIRCRAFT (N486DA) WAS ALSO CONDUCTING TOUCH AND GO PRACTICE. POOR RADIO COMMUNICATIONS AND A FAILURE TO "SEE AND AVOID" RESULTED IN A COLLISION OVER THE RUNWAY 27 THRESHOLD AT ABOUT 30 FEET.

## Other aircraft in the event

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ERA18LA109](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ERA18LA109), Mar 16, 2018: Cirrus Design SR22 (N816CD), Palatka, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Both pilots’ and the flight instructor’s failure to identify, see, and avoid the other airplane, which resulted in a midair collision.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
