## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE AIRCRAFT, AN EMBRAER , EMB-500 WAS ON FINAL APPROACH INTO SARASOTA/BRADENTON INTL, FL (SRQ) WHEN THE PILOT NOTICED BIRDS AROUND THE AIRPORT. THE PILOT STATED HE SAW A SMALL BIRD FLOATING UP TOWARDS THE PLANE, THE BIRD WENT UNDER THE WING, AND THEN HE FELT / HEARD A THUMP. AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY AND EXITED THE RUNWAY. THE AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANAGER MET THE AIRCRAFT ON THE RAMP AND SHOWED THE PILOT THE DEAD BIRD, WHICH WAS RECOVERED ON THE RUNWAY THRESHOLD. THE PILOT REPORTED HE INSPECTED THE AIRCRAFT AND THERE WAS NO VISIBLE DAMAGE OR ANY BIRD REMNANTS. HE ASSUMED THE BIRD HIT THE TIRE. A BIRD STRIKE REPORT (2018-3-27-102449) WAS SUBMITTED TO THE FAA VIA THE ONLINE REPORTING SYSTEM AT THE AIRPORT WILDLIFE HAZARD MITIGATION WEB SITE (HTTP://WWW.FAA.GOV/GO/WILDLIFE). THERE WAS ONE SOUL ON BOARD WITH NO INJURIES.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
