## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON 24 MARCH, 2018, AT APPROXIMATLEY 2230 EDT, AN AIR AMBULANCE FLIGHT OPERATED BY PHI AIR MEDICAL LLC WITH ONE PATIENT ONBOARD DIVERTED TO WINCHESTER REGIONAL AIRPORT (OKV) FOLLOWING A BIRD STRIKE. THE PILOT RECEIVED A ¼ INCH LACERATION TO HIS RIGHT CHEEK AND WAS TREATED AND RELEASED. NO OTHER INJURIES WERE REPORTED. DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT WAS LIMITED TO THE RIGHT WINDSCREEN.

A CLOSER INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED A HOLE IN THE TOP OF THE RIGHT WINDSCREEN APPROXIMATLEY 18 INCHES IN DIAMETER. ALL THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE INSPECTIONS WERE CURRENT AS OF MARCH 26, 2018.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
