## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT ON RUNWAY 11 THE AIRCRAFT EXITED THE LEFT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. IT THEN COLLIDED WITH THE AIRPORT RUNWAY IDENTIFIER SIGN LOCATED @ THE SECOND TAXIWAY. THE LEFT HAND LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED, CAUSING ADDITIONAL AIRCRAFT DAMAGE TO THE NOSE BOWL, THE PROPELLER, THE WING LEFT REAR LIFT STRUT AND THE LEFT HAND WING. ADDITIONALLY, THE LOWER FUSELAGE STRUCTURE BETWEEN THE LEFT HAND LANDING GEAR ATTACHMENTS WAS ALSO DAMAGED.

DURING THE ACCIDENT THE WINDS WERE GUSTING AND VARIABLE AND THE PILOT REPORTED IT SIMPLY PUSHED HIM LEFT DURING THE LANDING ROLLOUT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA188](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA188), Mar 30, 2018: Piper J3C (N24751), Nampa, ID, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain directional control during the landing roll.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
