## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

THE PILOT HAD A HARD LANDING AT U14 (NEPHI, UT). HE STATED ON FINAL APPROACH JUST PRIOR TO LANDING, THE AIRCRAFT DROPPED, AND THE AIRCRAFT TURNED AND YAWED TO THE LEFT.

THE PILOT STATED HE DID NOT GET OUT OF THE AIRCRAFT, BUT LOOKED OUT EACH WINDOW AND COULD NOT SEE ANY DAMAGE. HE STATED HE FELT LIKE THE AIRCRAFT WAS RUNNING FINE. SO HE TOOK OFF AND FLEW BACK TO BOUNTIFUL, UT.

THE DAMAGE WAS REPORTED BY THE SCHOOL THAT THE AIRCRAFT WAS LEASED TO ON APRIL 5, 2018. THE DAMAGE WAS TO THE PROPELLER, BUCKLING IN THE DOOR, BUCKLING IN THE SKIN AFT OF THE FIREWALL, FIREWALL BUCKLING, AND THE NOSE STRUT HAD COLLAPSED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA202](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA202), Mar 30, 2018: Cessna 182 (N5292N), Nephi, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s failure to maintain a proper landing flare, which resulted in a hard landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
