## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT & INSTRUCTOR WERE ACCELERATING DURING T/O ROLL. PILOT WAS USED TO A/C THAT WAS EQUIPPED WITH A SPEED INTERLOCK ON THE GEAR UP LEVER. LEVER WAS MOVED TO UP POSITION AND GEAR WOULD NOT RETRACT UNTIL TARGET SPEED WAS REACHED. THE INCIDENT A/C HAD BEEN MODIFIED BY SB TO REMOVE THE SPEED INTERLOCK PROVIDING FOR DIRECT CONTROL INPUT RESPONSE. WHEN GEAR LEVER WAS SELECTED UP PILOT DETECTED GEAR RESPONSE AND MOVED IT BACK TO DOWN POSITION PREVENTING COMPLETE GEAR COLLAPSE AND PROP STRIKE. DAMAGE LIMITED TO RIGHT WING TIP & BENT FLAP SUPPORT BRACKET.
