## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

ON APRIL 20, 2018, AT ABOUT 1935UTC (1435 CST), A CARIBBEAN SUN AIRLINES, MD83 (DC-9-83), N807WA, DBA WORLD ATLANTIC AIRLINES, RIGHT MAIN LANDING GEAR COLLAPSED DURING LANDING ROLLOUT AT ALEXANDRIA INTERNATIONAL (AEX) IN LOUISIANA. THIS CAUSED FUEL AND HYDRAULIC FLUID TO SPILL AND THE RIGHT WING TO CONTACT THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE 101 SOULS ON BOARD TWO PILOTS, FOUR FLIGHT ATTENDANTS, ONE INFLIGHT MECHANIC, AND 94 PASSENGERS, ALL SAFELY EVACUATED WITH NO INJURIES REPORTED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DCA18FA144](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DCA18FA144), Apr 20, 2018: Mcdonnell Douglas DC 9 83(MD-83) (N807WA), Alexandria, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: the failure of the right main landing gear under normal loads due to fatigue cracking in an area subject to an FAA Airworthiness Directive that was not adequately inspected.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
