## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

AIRCRAFT WAS PERFORMING INTERSECTION DEPARTURE ON SNOW COVERED RUNWAY WITH APPROXIMATELY 1200 FEET OF USABLE RUNWAY. PILOT STATED THAT, DURING TAKEOFF ROLL, HE ENCOUNTERED DEEPER SNOW THAN HE ANTICIPATED AND COULD NOT GAIN ENOUGH AIRSPEED TO TAKEOFF. WITH APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET OF RUNWAY LEFT, HE DECIDED TO ABORT THE TAKEOFF. HE PULLED BACK ON THE POWER, THE AIRCRAFT SANK IN THE DEEPER SNOW AND FLIPPED OVER ON ITS BACK. PILOT HAD RECENTLY INSTALLED TUNDRA TIRES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA221](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA221), Apr 21, 2018: Cessna 120 (N1807V), Iola, WI, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot’s decision to reject the takeoff from a snow-covered grass surface, which resulted in a nose-over.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
