## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING THE LANDING SEQUENCE AT WILLAPA HARBOR AIRPORT (2S9) THE PILOT FLARED TO HIGH. THE PLANE THEN STALLED AND BOUNCED. THE PILOT THEN ATTEMPTED A GO-AROUND WHEN THE PLANE STALLED AGAIN AND CRASHED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB GAA18CA223](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/GAA18CA223), Apr 22, 2018: Ken Olson Scamp (N964TA), Raymond, WA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain a proper landing flare, which resulted in an aerodynamic stall, bounced landing, and subsequent secondary stall during a go-around attempt.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
